Our Story…

Garden State Chinchillas is a small hobby breeder located in Hunterdon County New Jersey dedicated to the breeding of high quality chinchillas. Our journey with chinchillas started over a decade ago when we purchased our first chinchilla as a pet from a pet store. After doing much of our own research and spending time with our Charlie, we discovered the proper way to care for and improve chinchillas. Our fascination with chinchillas only grew from there and we started our journey into becoming a small scale breeder focused on breeding quality chinchillas. We have been to local and distant chinchilla shows including: Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and the Carolinas. Many of our chinchillas that entered into shows have taken home awards and this is how we knew we are on the right track of quality chinchillas! We are also members of both the Mutation Chinchillas Breeders Association and Empress Chinchilla Breeders Cooperative.
